While it is certainly possible to build smaller functioning curves as well, many toppling projects based on double lines rely on a setup of exactly ten dominoes for the inner curve and fourteen dominoes for the outer curve between the respective start and end points. This provides a good tradeoff between the required space and the resulting toppling security of the curve. It is advisable to insert three adjacent dominoes after the curve to ensure that the following two lines will topple in sync.

The key to building a perfect double curve is to use four flat dominoes for determining the correct end points of the inner and outer curve beforehand. Once all connecting points are clear, the inner and outer curves can be built in two distinct steps, respectively, to ensure proper curvature of the resulting setup.
